Bill DeRonde founded the Los Angeles-based post-production facility, Chainsaw, in 1996 with one Avid system.  Over the next two decades, he grew it into one of the premier edit facilities in Los Angeles. Chainsaw worked for every major television network on shows such as The Academy Awards, The Emmy Awards, American Idol, Game of Thrones, Star Trek Discovery, Watchmen and Savage X Fenty.

As a five-time Emmy award winning editor, Bill has worked on a wide range of projects including concerts, comedy specials, variety and reality shows and feature films. He was supervising editor on the Fox hit American Idol beginning in 2002 and directed his first American Idol episode in 2012.  He went on to direct many episodes for the remainder of the series through 2017 for Fox. He also directed So You Think You Can Dance over the next several years from the audition episodes through the call back rounds.  He sold Chainsaw in 2014 and became President of Post for The Sim Group with multiple locations across the US and Canada.  He continued to grow his directing portfolio while editing projects for every major network and streaming service.

Bill left the Sim Group when the company was acquired by Picture Shop in 2021 to focus on his directing career. Recently, he has directed multiple episodes of Unicorn Hunters, Impractical Jokers Dinner Party, as well as the ABC pilot Paint Like a Ross..  Bill approaches all Directing projects with his refined editing eyes – making sure that the material will work seamlessly in the edit.
